We are seeking 5 members who are not on the Executive Board and are not a Trustee to serve as our Election Committee under Article 6 of the Bylaw. This is a one-year commitment.
The duties of this committee are as follows:
- Elect a Chief Returning Officer who will rule on any election complaints
- Ensure nominations are in order and were received within the timelines
- Work with the independent firm selected to conduct the electronic vote
- Prepare a brief written report of the results to the membership for the AGM
- Declare elected the candidate in each election who receives a majority of votes cast (50% +1 vote)
This will require a small time commitment, most of which will be done during work hours on Union paid time.
