CUPE Local 718 2024 June By-Elections

CUPE 718/394 Member Update – Tentative Agreement Reached

We are pleased to announce that both locals have successfully negotiated a tentative agreement with the City of Richmond.

Last month a record number of members participated in the strike vote and the results were overwhelming support for strike action. Your support was essential in reaching this tentative agreement.

Both bargaining committees want to thank members for their ongoing support during this round of negotiations. This was a challenging round of bargaining, but we feel confident that we were able to negotiate a new contract that meets members needs.

CUPE 718 will be holding information meetings on Wednesday, May 15 via both Zoom & in person.

At each ratification meeting there will be an overview of the tentative agreement and the bargaining committee will answer any questions you have prior to the vote taking place.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out prior to the meeting if you have any questions.

Please watch your personal email for the in-person meeting details and a Zoom invite.

Voting will take place online from 8:00 am on May 16 to 8:00 am on May 17.
You will be sent a separate email to vote. If you do not receive your electronic vote by 8:30 am on May 16 please contact the Union Office.

(CUPE 394 will be holding an information meeting on Tuesday, May 14 at the Austria Vancouver Club, 5851 Westminster Hwy, starting at 4:45 pm. Voting will take place in person on May 15 at the CUPE 394 trailer from 6:00 am – 5:00 pm).
